Created in collaboration with wood's character these pieces are without individual titles and are signed and dated as being from my 'Imprint' series. They begin with the excavation of cedar slabs by treating the surface with a torch to loosen the pithy part of the grain and then pressure washing to clean it out. I then print the results in black and work into the found image with india ink where the gestures of the wood inform my own. The works are finished by inking up the burn stamp that I use to demarcate my sculptures as the 'chop' or signature.
